THE CHALLENGE:
The company approached us with the need for a plastic valve that would ensure a proper fit between the lid and the canister, guaranteeing airtightness and compatibility with food contact. The valve was required to be delivered to the end customer already assembled with the lid.
VPLAST SOLUTION:
Our study to offer the best solution to the client began with defining the design and shape of the gasket, starting from the measurements of the tin canister and identifying the correct interference between the lid and the canister based on the shrinkage of the plastic component.
We conducted an extensive research activity to select the right material mix that would provide the product with the desired consistency, ensuring its suitability for food contact. For this purpose, we carried out specific laboratory tests to certify its compliance with food safety standards.
Finally, we established an internal area dedicated to assembling the valve with the lid, effectively meeting this requirement.
