Vplast festeggia con successo il primo cambio generazionale

The year 2022 marked an important milestone for Vplast, as the company successfully celebrated its first generational transition. Taking the reins of the Piazzola sul Brenta-based business are cousins Davide Bertinazzi, born in 1986, and Alessandro Miotto, born in 1984.

The roots of our story go back three generations to Mario Miotto, who worked in a plastic molding factory in the 1970s when the material was still in its infancy. The seed of Vplast was planted in the minds of its three founders—Marino Miotto, Giuliano Bertinazzi, and Giuseppe Zecchin—who officially established the company in October 1984.

Starting with just six machines on a contract basis, the business initially operated out of Torri di Quartesolo, in the province of Vicenza. As the company grew, it required more space, prompting a move to Piazzola sul Brenta (Padua) in 1996. At that time, the company occupied only half of the building it uses today. Growth came step by step. During these years, Davide and Alessandro spent their summers helping their parents at the company, absorbing the passion and understanding the sacrifices of the founders.

In 2008, the sudden passing of Giuseppe Zecchin marked a turning point. The two young men began assuming greater responsibilities. By 2012, company roles were reorganized: Alessandro Miotto took charge of production, while Davide Bertinazzi first managed quality and later expanded into the commercial sphere.

Another leap forward came in 2013 with the attainment of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certifications. Meanwhile, Marino Miotto continued his technical work on mold maintenance, and Giuliano Bertinazzi managed warehouse and logistics operations.

Vplast’s growth continued with the acquisition of new clients and the hiring of personnel to support senior roles and meet production demands. In 2015, the company expanded by acquiring the adjacent building. This milestone led to the creation of a new reception area, office and meeting spaces, employee locker rooms, and a fully equipped cafeteria. The additional space allowed for new presses, an expanded warehouse, and a dedicated maintenance area.

In 2019, Vplast transitioned from an artisan company to an industrial enterprise—a key step in its growth. On August 1, 2022, the founders formally handed over decision-making power to Davide and Alessandro, completing a gradual generational transition that had begun years earlier.

Under their leadership, Vplast shifted from being a straightforward plastics processing company to becoming a leader in more complex projects, supporting clients outside the plastics industry with technical decisions related to products and projects.

One of the first decisions by the new Board of Directors was to hire two young women, both new mothers, to fill roles in production scheduling, purchasing, and quality management.

Despite challenges such as the pandemic, the outbreak of war in Europe, and rising electricity costs, Vplast remains poised for significant growth. Guided by a young generation that has built on the lessons of their predecessors while embracing innovation, the generational transition has been a success, bearing the fruits of a promising future.
